Reflections from Journey On

I have to say that listening to this and following everything that the speaker said really did work.  I have participated in Guided Imagery and visualization relaxation before, but this particular method was amazing.  I could  literally feel the warmth in my hands and my hands and arms really did become heavy and difficult to lift.

Prior to listening, I was feeling tired and hungry.  Now that I am finished I feel awake and ready to tackle the day.  I am still hungry, but my stomach is not growling like before.

I tend to hold my tension in my shoulders.  I think that I could learn to release some of this tension if I practiced this on a regular basis.  This experience truly proves how powerful suggestions to the mind can be.

Now I am ready to face the day!

  1. I too have used guided imagery before and I wish that I could find my tapes again or even a copy on MP3 so I can listen to it every day and night. Day when I need to start energized and night when I need to relax and fall asleep. I hold my tension in my shoulders and back and after relaxing using the reflections from Journey On I don't feel like I have the whole world on my shoulders.

Good luck to you and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

  2. Isn't it incredible what the mind can do? I have only had one class that focused on mindfulness and meditation like this with guided imagery, and it was and still is a challenge for me to completely let go and not hold mental control. I think it is something that takes practice, sometimes some of it works for me, and sometimes I have a hard time with it... but any excuse to attempt to relax is always welcomed :) Cheers to finding peace in this crazy life!

  3. I think it's amazing that the mind has so much power of the body. I myself was a little preoccupied when I listened to the exercise, but I have done ones similar to this before. It's crazy how your arms really do feel heavy when you try to lift them. I'm glad to hear that you felt energized after doing it!

  4. Hi Rose: It is great that you've forgiven your brother and want to visit him after 4 years of not seeing him. I thought of my sister Roz, who is in a similar situation, and after being in an institution for almost 5 years it is becoming very difficult to see her there.
